Character: Paddy`s a pretty laid back type of dog. He`s very calm and doesn`t usually make a fuss over himself. As he has a quick temper he also mellows donw easily.
His bark is worst than his bite -saying that he doesn`t bite but only warnes you. Paddy tells us -eveyone when the mail drops through the slot unless I`m sleeping which is kind of weird to
me!? Paddy`s not overly cowardly but he is timid at times and always carefull. It`s very seldom that Paddy goes belly-down on the ground when meeting new people but it definitely has
happened! And when a big bus drives by all puffing and shooing Paddy always runs behind me and as far away from the road as he can -Once he even walked into a glass walled bus
stop whilst trying to get away from a bus.
Food: Paddy can eat just about anything (food that it) if it`s in his reach and you`re not quick enough to tell him off. If and when I give him home cooked food there`s not a drop left after he`s eaten. After he cleans his bowl he tries to go help Pepe clean his and does so if Pepe doesn`t have a mouth full of food and can`t tell Paddy off.
The pack: Paddy needs to be around his family at any time. He sleeps or lies beside me and follows me around the house. Always a few steps behind, always by my feet. Paddy doesn`t like letting me out of his sight in the woods. When I go `missing` he gets anxious and after he finds me he won`t let me out of his sight for the rest of the day. Thinking: Ì can`t trust her to take care of herself at all! To go and get lost like that... Better keep an eye on her.`
Tricks: He`s such a good boy to obey when he knows he`ll be getting a treat for it. He loves: carrots, peas, other vegetables, cheese, sausages etc. Paddy loves to do tricks and one of his favorite things is to look for stuff by sniffing them out or sniffing trails. He would love to spend ages solving his lill` puzzles if only there were enough treats and if only he wouldn`t solve the games so quickly.
Stress: Paddy stresses over big changes as every human or animal does and in their own ways. When we lost one of our family members it took Paddy about 1/2year to get over his depression, but I have to admit that mainly he must have been mirroring my own feelings rather than actually beeing depressed himself for so long. When we moved into our new apartment he was fine and had no singns of feeling down or... Anything! Everything`s been going fine -no marking inside and not the slightest sign of depression. Rather I feel that Paddy`s a much happier pup nowadays than he ever has been! He`s a happy and affectionate lill` bundle of joy
A spoiled doggy: It`s interesting to watch Paddy running around at f.ex. my parents house. He takes his time going around every person and finally when someone starts to
pet him he settles down. Sits down and just enjoys himself until the person gets tired of petting him. When he sees that he wore that persons affections out already he simply moves onto
the next one and so on... My family`s not very good at saying now to him though I tell them to and thatit`s not good for him to get his way and...
Kids: Paddy`s quite used to playing around small children. My friends kids (2-3yrs) love his soft fur and Paddy obviously loves all the attention he gets from them. I always keep an eye on them though so that nothing happens. Like Paddy growling or snapping at the kids or the kids being too rough with him. Nothing has happened yet but I still keep a watchfull eye on them.
Sleep: Paddy most often sleeps by me on my bed beside my pillow near my head. But he often switches places during the night to cool off I think. He usually sleeps on my bed,
in his doggie bed or on the floor.
Being alone: He`s ok when he`s left absolutely alone at home for short periods at a time. When I leave for work I don`t leave a duet of howling dogs behind the doors. He just slightly tilts his head to one side and watches me close the door. If I do leave him alone and take only Pepe out he does cry for about 1min tops after which he settles infront of the door and waits for us to return. He hasn`t actually been trained to being alone because he always has Pepe with him.
Play and games: He absolutely loves to pull on my socks (not when I wear them though!) and eat my lip-balm! Sometimes I roll a treat into a sock and give it to him and he loves it. He also likes to chew on my hairbands. Paddy`s very clever at solving puzzles (activity toys). He`s really good with solving small mazes and he enjoys following a scent trail.
This is basically who Paddy is!
